In my opinion you shouldn’t be on the flat rate scheme because you have more zero rated sales than standard rated and you can’t deduct import invoices.

You would pay less VAT to HMRC if you weren’t in that period on the flat rate scheme. From now its more beneficial for you to pay 20% VAT on standard rated sales which you have only few.



When we hear back from HMRC about your audit we can asked them to remove you from the scheme and do the correction return for that periods and include your import VAT invoices relating to that period which will reduce your VAT payments.
