Initially for any child learning English I would highly recommend texts that promote the understanding of phonics. Children are bombarded with the alphabet when they are young and although this is the first hurdle to being able to read and write, it is only half the battle. Learning Phonics is the key to learning how to read and I would encourage students (especially those of a second language) to start learning phonics as early as possible. The idea is that if you can teach a child to read, they can then teach themselves.

英語を学ぶどのお子さんにも、最初はフォニックスの理解を推奨できるようなテキストを強くお勧めします。子供たちは幼い時にアルファベット漬けになり、これが読み書きができるようになるための最初のハードルではあるのだですが大変なのは半分ほどです。フォニックスを学習するのは、読む学習のキーであるため生徒（特に2か国語を話す生徒）がなるべく早い段階でフォニックスの学習を開始することをおすすめします。この考え方はもしあなたが子供に読みを教えられるのであれば、彼ら自身で教えることができます。
