I am waiting to hear back from my accountant, but as I don't charge VAT I can't reduce my price by a further 20% as that would be 50% below my retail price and uneconomic to produce. My suggestion is to charge a premium for imported goods.

I'd like to check one more time about the VAT.
VAT is a very serious problem for me.
The estimated price which I received from you is the same price that it is sold for in, for example, Germany, Italy and various other EU countries,
in other words, the price is 30% less than the price that includes VAT.
When I check with Japanese customs, they confirm that there is no obligation to pay 20% VAT in cases where it's sent directly to Japan.
Therefore, I think that estimated price excluding the postage charge is not £179.90 but £143.92.
If you don't understand this, would you be able to confirm it with your tax accountant?
