競争商品がある場合は、品質の良し悪しは競争商品との比較により相対的に定められる。等々の難しさがある。
IS09001では品質は次のように定義されている。

あるものに存在している固有の特性の集まりが要求を満たしている程度

最小限の完成品在庫を持ち引き取られた分だけ造り補充する（造りすぎのムダを抑える）

商品品質は、製品またはサービスの内容と顧客の要求との合致度、言い換えると顧客満足度で表される

If there is a competing product, whether the quality is good or bad is determined relatively by comparison with the competing product, which is difficult.
Quality is defined in IS09001 as follows.

The degree to which a set of unique characteristics that exist in something meet the requirements

Store the minimum amount of completed products, and produce only the number of taken products, and then replenish them. (Do not produce too many.)

The quality of products is shown by the matching degree of the content of the product or service and the requirement of the customer, in other word, the degree of customer satisfaction.
