顧客の要求品質の多くは潜在的で、顧客においても要求品質が何かが十分わかっていないことすらある。
競争商品がある場合は、品質の良し悪しは競争商品との比較により相対的に定められる。等々の難しさがある。
IS09001では品質は次のように定義されている。

あるものに存在している固有の特性の集まりが要求を満たしている程度

最小限の完成品在庫を持ち引き取られた分だけ造り補充する（造りすぎのムダを抑える）

商品品質は、製品またはサービスの内容と顧客の要求との合致度、言い換えると顧客満足度で表される

Most of required quality of customers are latent, and sometimes even themselves don’t understand enough what their required quality is.
There are some difficulties that when there are competing products, good or bad of quality is relatively set in comparison with competing products.
In ISO9001, qualities are defined indicated in below.

Extent that a cluster of characteristic features existing in certain things.

To replenish as much as they are received, having a minimum stock of finished products. (For minimum waste of making too much.)

Commodity quality is shown as concordance with requirement of customers and contents of service or commodities, in other words, as customer satisfaction.
