私はこの冬休み、スキーに行きました。久しぶりのスキーだったのではじめは転んでいましたが、だんだんと慣れて午後にはうまく滑れるようになりました。とても楽しかったです。旅行以外には主に家の手伝いや父の仕事の手伝いをしました。皿洗いや掃除、洗濯が主な仕事です。大晦日には大掃除で、床に掃除機をかけたりゴミ捨てなどをしました。父の手伝いは商品の袋詰めなどをしました。大晦日の夜は、テレビでガキの使いや紅白歌合戦などを見ました。元旦の朝は、家族でお雑煮を食べて新年を迎えました。

I went skiing this winter break. Because it was my first time in a while I kept falling. But as I got used to it, I could ski better in the afternoon. It was a lot of fun. Besides travelling, I mainly helped cleaning my house and my father's business. My main task was doing dishes, cleaning the floor and laundry. On New Year's Eve during the through cleaning at the end of the year, I did the vacuum cleaner and took out the trashes, etc. For helping my father, I packaged items. In the evening on New Year's Eve, I watched TV programs such as Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! and the annual contest between male and female popular singers on New Year's Eve. In the morning of New Year's Day, my new year started eating ozoni* with my family.

N.B. "Ozoni" is the Japanese traditional soup with boiled rice cakes and vegetables on New Year's Day.
