Motorola made strides to change that during its period of Google ownership with a much lighter and less intrusive Android skin, as seen on the Moto X, that makes updates possible within a few weeks; Samsung has taken note and accelerated its major Android updates to a period of a few months, rather than a year or more, for its flagship devices. That leaves Xiaomi trailing behind more than ever.
