1台に初期不良がありましたので返金要求をさせていただきます。
現象は以下2点になります。
・本体の電源のオンオフができない。
・音声ガイダンスが聞こえない。
既にお客様に発送済の商品もありますが、
そちらでも初期不良が発生した場合は返金に対応していただけますでしょうか?
ご連絡をお待ちしております。

however if those units are also found to be defective early on will you be able to handle reimbursement for them?

Reimbursement is not the best word to use here. The requester wants a refund on a defected product, reimbursement is where you incurred an expense that you wish to be paid for.

初期不良 is usually translated as "dead on arrival" or "didn't work out of the box". I don't agree with natsukio, it's not really 不自然 just a bit stiff. That's tricky territory though because some people (especially non-native speakers of English!) will give you lower marks if you don't do a literal translation. My personal policy is to maintain the meaning while creating natural English. Can't please all the people all the time.

I'll admit I sorta rushed through this one. I'll keep in mind, 初期不良=dead on arrival, for the future.
