招き猫とは
猫は農作物や蚕を食べるネズミを駆除するため、古くは養蚕の縁起物でもあったが、養蚕が衰退してからは主に商売繁盛の縁起物とされています。
右手(前脚)を挙げている猫は金運を招き、左手(前脚)を挙げている猫は人(客)を招くとされます。
一般的には三毛猫ですが現在は種類も増えており、諸説ありますが恋愛運(桃)や魔除け(黒)など、様々な意味を持つようになっています。
