This is not a matter of a damaged product during transit, but a matter of pruduct failure/defect.

Sorry. This could be a damaged product during transit, but at present it has not been determined. A damage to a product suggests obvious evidences such as broken parts, smashed products, and torn apart packages. In the source text no such evidences are indicated. It could be an initial failure/defect, though nobody knows yet.

The concern over the condition of the package conclusively suggests that it HAS been damaged, in fact the author ask that it be returned due to this. If you can't review my work, please refrain from doing so.

The source text does not suggest about the "package" at all. It is talking about the product that is not working as expected.

商品はどういう「症状」でしょうか is different from どういう「状態」
If it was said 「状態」, it could involve the package, so could mean any
DAMAGE.
But if you say 「症状」, it is none of external conditions. 「症状」 is often used to indicate any mal condition of your health, like you have a fever or headache. Mostly these are not obviously visible staff, different from DAMAGE.
Actually, you may see that no other translators (Japanese) say "damage" though everyone should know the word.
And the source text does not say "as the package was damaged by the EMS delivery company" anyway.

I could give you another two-star review for your latest work regarding「商品が止まっていたが戻ってきたのでアマゾン経由で返金する」.

"Native English speakers" would never say "product price, minus......" This can never convey the meaning of the Japanese source text. This might mean the receiver might receive an amount less than the product price, just ambiguous. This confusion might have been because the source text omitted the word to indicate "from which" the costs are deducted as obviosity, but you could sense it before you translate it.

People get even more severe in rating English written by native English speakers. Contrary, people tend to make allowances to Enlgish written by non-English speakers.
For the text starting with "In prewar Japan", you were under-rated (I was almost giving you 4 stars) and I was over-rated.
