日本語では主語が必要ないときが多いですが、英語では主語が無いと、伝わらない場合が多いです。
"But" は文の最初には来ません。前の文とのつなぎや、Yes, but... など意見を出した後に使います。口語では使われることが多いですが、文字に直す場合は控えたほうがいいでしょう。
