that's right because the user login and password are for another person which means they are monitoring it before and after the login to avoid that scenario. I worked in a corporation so I know that user IDs and passwords cannot be shared , and requires an approval.
There are 3 people, right? I=employer, you=employee, and the support center (of the e-trade platform). "I" is in Japan, "you" and the support center are in the U.S. (that's what I remember)
Here's how the story goes:

日本語で「確認した」というとき、sometimes it means "inquired with sb to confirm if".
Huh? I didn't understand your comment earlier, but now I wonder if you meant that the sentence you skipped was something neglectable as it just described the natural (or well-noted) reason for the preceding sentence.(当たり前のことだから、わざわざ言う必要がないことだ、と？）
