There are so many bands around that 'sound' good but they don't really have any songs, they don't have any hooks, nothing to hold on to.

I think songwriting is the hardest skill to perfect as a musician (and something I'm still trying to do) and lots of people get caught up with the 'sound' of their music without focusing on songwriting.

I think if you can listen to a crappy tape recording of a song and that song still gets across then it's a great song.

周辺には素晴らしい「音」を奏でるバンドは沢山ありますが、人を惹きつけ虜にするような魅力のある歌はありません。
曲作りは、ミュージシャン（私がまだしようとしていること）として完璧であるための最も困難な技能であり、そして多くの人達は、作詞作曲に焦点を合わないために、音楽の「音」に悪い結果をもたらしているのだと私は思います。
