English

My favorite relative is my uncle on my mother's side. My uncle lost his father to an atomic bomb when he was little, and is a wise man who had to live with his mother and siblings. After graduating from junior college, while working as a company employee, he took and passed the exam to become a certified public accountant. What I like about my uncle is that he is gentle and kind to others. One thing he said remains in my mind even now: "There are hardships in life, but if, at the end, you can say that it was a good life, that is all you need." I would like to live my life so that I can think it was good at the end, despite the tough times.

Great translation. Flows well and there are no glaring errors. I think that it is generally understood that when referring to an atomic bomb incident, it refers to the one from WWII, which is why I changed the "an" to "the".

I struggled about that since there were two atomic bombs from WWII. I think either would be understood. Thank you for taking a look at my translation!

That's true, you have a point. No problem. Just returning the favour.
