私の好きな親戚は、私の母方の叔父です。叔父は小さい頃に父親を原爆で失い、母親と兄弟と生きてきた苦労人です。短大を卒業後、会社員として働きながら公認会計士の試験を受け合格しました。
叔父の好きなところは、穏やかで他人に優しいところです。叔父の言葉で今でも心に残っているのは、「人生には苦労もあるけれど、最後に自分がいい人生だったと思えれば、それでいいんだよ」 という言葉です。
辛いこともありますが、人生の最後によかったと思えるような生き方をしたいと思います。

Of my relatives, I like my uncle, from my mother's side. When my uncle was little, he lost his father to the atomic bomb and lived through hard times with his mother and siblings. After graduating from college, he took and passed the certified accountant examination as he worked a regular day job.
What I like about my uncle is his gentleness and kindness to others. One of his sayings that still resonates with me now is, "Life may present challenges, but in the end, if you can say that it was a good life, then it's all worth it."
I want to be able to lead a life where, despite hardships, I can look back in the end and say it's been a good life.
