蛤碁石は常に簡単にでも乾拭きしておくとよい。汚れが酷い場合は、水に数分浸し、軽く水洗いしてから、乾いた布で水分を十分に拭き取る。その後、すぐに碁石入れに入れず日光乾燥か陰干いする。
