しかし中学の頃は人間関係も良く、友達も沢山いた。しかし高校という新しいフィールドに希望を感じた時から、私にとって中学校は古い場所に思えて、早くそこから旅立ちたいと思うようになった。

新しい環境に行くことによってチャンスが手に入れられることは確かだが、新しいチャンスをうまく生かせるとは限らない。環境を変えてからの努力次第ですべてが決まるが、そのスタートはほぼ皆平等なのではないかと思う。私は理想の自分を追い求めて映画の主人公のまねをしたり、何度も部屋の模様替えをしたりもした。

However, my inter-relations were good in middle school and I made many friends. But once I started harbouring hopes of high school, I felt that the middle school was a place of the past and wanted to move on from it as soon as I could.

It is certainly true that new chances are up for grabs when we leave for a new environment, but it doesn't guarantee that we will be able to make good use of them. It is indeed decided by how much effort we put in after changing our environment but likewise, everyone starts from the same starting line. I often mimic the manners of the protagonists in movies, chasing after my ideal self and have remodeled my living space several times.
