しかし中学の頃は人間関係も良く、友達も沢山いた。しかし高校という新しいフィールドに希望を感じた時から、私にとって中学校は古い場所に思えて、早くそこから旅立ちたいと思うようになった。

新しい環境に行くことによってチャンスが手に入れられることは確かだが、新しいチャンスをうまく生かせるとは限らない。環境を変えてからの努力次第ですべてが決まるが、そのスタートはほぼ皆平等なのではないかと思う。私は理想の自分を追い求めて映画の主人公のまねをしたり、何度も部屋の模様替えをしたりもした。

When I was in middle school, I had good relationships with people and lots of friends. However, when I started to feel the desire for the new field of high school, I started to think of middle school as an old place, and decided I wanted to leave there as soon as possible.

It's true that going to a new place is a chance, but that doesn't guarantee that you'll use that chance wisely. Everything depends on your determination once you've changed your environment. It's a start that puts everyone on even grounds. I imitated the main character of a movie, changing the pattern of the room over and over, chasing after my ideal self.
