Wikiは、利用者が共同で自分たちの環境を構築するという思想、パターンランゲージ、に大きな影響を受けて生まれました。建築分野で生まれたパターンランゲージはソフトウェア開発業界に大きな影響を与え、デザインパターン、XP、Wikiなどといった設計思想・システムが生まれました。このようなパターンランゲージを源として様々な設計思想・システムが生まれた歴史的経緯について、「パターン、Wiki、XP ―― 時を超えた創造の原則」(技術評論社、2007)という本にまとめました

Wiki was launched under the influence of a concept called "Pattern Language", which users collectively create their own environment.
A Pattern language, originating in the architecture field, influenced software development industry, and resulted in new design concepts and systems such as a design pattern, XP, and Wiki. We published the book titled "Pattern, Wiki, XP - the timeless principle of creation(Gijutsu-Hyohron Co., Ltd., 2007)", describing the history that various design concepts and systems have been developed based on a pattern language concept.
