日本では金庫の文化は有るのですが、持ち運び可能な防犯ケースというのは、あまり普及していません。
その理由としては、アメリカの様に銃を所持したりする様な文化が無い事も関係しているのかもしれません。
クラウドファンディングの狙いは、多くの人に商品を知ってもらう為のプロモーション活動です。

In Japan, a safe has been used for many years, however, a removable case aimed at crime prevention isn’t familiarised yet.
