先日、テレビで南イタリアのナポリにある世界遺産ポンペイが放送されていました。

私も数年前にローマから日帰りでポンペイに行ったことがあります。
ナポリからローカル線でポンペイに向かいましたが、南イタリアの5月はとても暑く、その日は日差しがとても強かったのを覚えています。

ポンペイはヴェスヴィオ山の大噴火により一夜にして火山灰に覆いつくされた街として有名です。
遺跡となっても美しい街で、200年以上前の人々の生活が垣間見えました。
神殿、裁判者や集会所、野外劇場や円形闘技場まであります。

Earlier, there was a news on TV about Pompeii in North Italy International Heritage.

I have been there some years ago on a day trip.
I went Pompeii from Napoli by a local line, it was really hot in May in North Italy and I remember the sunshine was so strong.

Pompeii is famous for a town covered with ash over night by Mt. Vesuvius.
It is still a beautiful town even after it became a heritage, I could see life of more than 200 years.
The shrine, the court and a meeting place and outdoor theatre and the amphitheater too.
