JCSは、イベント持続可能性の認証ISO20121を日本で初めて取得した。この認証はロンドンオリンピックも取得した国際認証で、環境・社会・経済のバランスがとれたイベントを運営するために開発された。JCSはBS8901もアジアで初めて取得している。
JCSの星野氏は「イベントの開催にはサステナビリティが欠かせない。PDCAサイクルに盛り込み、実務的な業務プロセスに落とし込んだ。震災を機にさらにイベント・サステナビリティの重要性を再認識した。 ISO20121の取得やこれまでの取り組みを、ステークホルダーに発信し、取引先などのパートナーとの協力体制をより確実にするために活用したい」と語っている。
なお、認証を行なうBSIグループジャパンは9月26日、同社東京本社でISO20121構築・運用のメリットなどを解説するセミナーを開催する。参加費は無料。詳細は同社のウェブサイトを参照すること。

JCS has acquired Japan’s first event-sustainable ISO20121 certification. This certification is an international certification, which was also acquired by the London Olympics. It was developed in order to conduct environmentally, socially, economically well-balanced event. JCS has also acquired Asia’s first BS8901.
