1911年、熊本で完成した小水力発電所の発電小屋の写真です。トンネルで導水路を作り、低い所に水を落下させる力で発電機を回す。水を貯めるダムとは違い最低限の開発で発電所を作れます。こういうやりかたは技術者好みではないです。たいした技術はいらないからです。非効率だからといいますが、それは違います。だから、何百という発電所が閉鎖されているのだと思います。こういう時だからこそ、どうしても簡素な発電所を復活すべきです。
This is a photo of a electrical generation room in a small hydroelectric power plant built in Kumamoto, in 1911. An aquaduct was created out of a tunnel, and the generator utilized the force of the falling water to turn. This type of power generation uses an even lower level of technology than that of a water dam.
Because this method does not require much skill, it is not favored by engineers. Additionally, it is believed to be inefficient, and although this is not necessarily the case, that seems to be the reason why so many hundreds of electrical power stations have shut down. I believe that especially in these times, we should seek to revive simple forms of power generation.
