"The expression looking from the other person's stand point" is what I have been trying when making suggestions and reports to various kind of people from board members to side workers. In a project, a customer requested me to create an internal induction course material of general management, as a result of the customer's rating on the material I'd created to build up morale of development vendors.
I can firmly communicate in any situation.
I have been caring about passing my opinion without flinching, even a customer objected in strong language. A CEO of a company valued this attitude and that went on to my next job with the company.
Style to change with clients
Whenever I suggest measures and policies to solve problems, I have been taking a style that is to show some choices to clients, to think and execute together so that the client never feel "I'm forced to do it". I have applied this style for one year in a customer's information system department, that eventually decreased "tendency to wait directions" and "fear of rocking a boat", then finally the department has become a orginization which finds out and improve problems at it's own initiative.
