トヨタ 86 のオープン仕様、米ドリフトイベントに登場
トヨタ自動車が発売したばかりの新型FRスポーツカー、『86』。同車のオープンバージョンが、米国に出現した。
これは7日、カリフォルニア州で行われた2012年シーズンのフォーミュラドリフト開幕戦での出来事。同レースではトヨタ86の米国仕様、サイオン『FR-S』がデビューを果たしたが、そのフォーミュラドリフトの会場に突如、86のオープンバージョンが登場したのだ。

The new type FR sports car "86", which was just released by Toyota. The open version of this car appeared in U.S.A.
This happend in the opening of the Formula Drift event for the season 2012, which was held in California on 7th. In that race, Scion FR-S, which is the US version of Toyota 86, came out for the first time, and unexpectedly the open version of 86 appeared in the Formula Drift event.
この86のオープン、カリフォルニア州に本拠を置き、サイオン各車のカスタマイズを得意とするCARTEL Customs社の作品。86のルーフを大胆にカットし、ロードスターに変身させている。
同社によると、ワンオフのショーカーとのこと。市販モデルとして、オープンバージョンの設定が噂される86だけに、そのスタイリングを先取りしたワンオフモデルといえそうだ。
This open 86 was made by CARTEL Customs, who takes advantage in customizing Scion cars, having its principal office in California. The roof of 86 is audaciously cut and converted into Roadster.
According to the company, this is a one-off show car. It is the leading one-off model taking the styling of 86,
as the 86 is said that its open version would be made.
