That day I went home, I crawled into bed and this is what my life looked like for the next few months.
Me passed out, escaping from reality with my legs rusting by my side.
I was absolutely, physically and emotionally broken.
But, I knew that in order to move forward I had to let go of the old Amy..
...and learn to embrace the new Amy.
And that is when it dawned on me that I did not have to be five foot five anymore.
I could be as tall as I wanted.
Or as short as I wanted depending on who I was dating.
And, if I snowboarded again my feet aren't going to get cold.
And best of all I thought, I can make my feet the size of all the shoes that are on the sales rack.
家に帰った日、私はベットまで這って行った。これがこれから何ヶ月かの私となる。私は意識を失ったのだ。現実から逃げ、足は私の横で錆び付いている。私は完全に肉体的、精神的に壊れていた。しかし私は知っていたのだ。先に進むためには今までの古いエイミーを捨てなくてはいけない事。そして新しいエイミーを受け入れること。その時こそ、私がもうこれ以上5フット5（約160ｃｍ）で無くても良い事に気づいた瞬間だった。私は私がなりたいだけ背が高くなれる。もしくは、デートする相手に合わせてなりたいだけ小さくなれる。スノーボードにもう一度行く機会があったって、足はもう冷たくならない。そして、何が一番いいって、足のサイズをセールになっている靴のサイズに合わせて好きに変えられること。
