Nagasaki Kunchi Festival is one of the three main festivals in Japan. It is a festival of Suwa Shrine in Nagasaki. It is held for three days from October 7. The origin of the word, Kunichi is believed to have come from the ninth day of the months which was pronounced "kunchi." The comical Dutch manzai, Japanese dance and Chinese "Dragon dance" are famous. Some performances called "Niwa saki mawari (cruising around houses)" which go around and perform in front of houses and stores are one of fun things we look forward to. When audience shout out, saying, "Bring it on!", it means "encore." Please shout out together with everybody. Otabidokoro is a convenient place where public transportations are readily available and we can enjoy a lot of stands and the festival there.

Nagasaki kunchi matsuri is one of the three biggest festivals in Japan. It is one of the many festivals that hold in Suwa temple in Nagasaki. It is for 3 days from 7th October. Kunchi is the word that came from 9th (date). In Japanese, we call 9th "kunichi".

There are Japanese traditional dance mixed up with comical touch, the comic from Netherland and Chiniese snake dance. The shows are hold in front of many houses and stores. It is called "Niwasaki mawari". It is also very interesting. You may hear the sound "motte kooi" at the site. It means "encore". I advise you to go to the place called "otabi dokoro". That is easy to access and you can find lots of stands to enjoy the festival.
