As a boss, you are only as good as the people who work for you.No matter what you do, if they don't do their Jobs, you don't look like you are doing a good job. So one of the chores that falls to you as a boss is to make sure employees get credit for doing their jobs as well as they do them.
Plead the case
Being an advocate means that one person pleads the case of another person. As a boss, you should be performing this very basic duty. Being an advocate doesn't mean that you talk only about all of the good things that an employee does, although that is certainly a big part of it. It also means that you come to the defense of your employees when they do something wrong or unacceptable within your company.
