These two items below. Yep, great weapons that held off a whole lot of military policemen. Sense a tale? Here you go…
I was a Military Policeman during my military years and we had our usual patrols and surprise visits to try to capture deserters every month or so. One particular time, ten of us were to make a surprise search of a serviceman’s house (he had gone AWOL for more than a couple of years) as per SOP. Having surrounded his abode, two of my colleagues knocked on his door and we heard a huge commotion coming from inside the house.

私は軍に入隊していた時、何年か憲兵として働いていました。毎月、仕事は普段は巡回をして、不意に現れ脱走兵を捕まえていました。ある時、寄宿舎に作戦規定により（何年にもわたる彼は許可なしの除隊）不意の訪問を行った。彼の居住地を取り囲み。同僚の2人がドアをノックした際、家の中から大きな音か聞こえた。
Two of my colleagues readied their batons and riot shields in case the deserter happened to be in…when suddenly the deserter charged out the main door armed with an iron in one hand and a stone carving in the other.
Now he didn’t just hold the items in each of his hands, he was swinging both his arms in vertical circles…and charging towards the bunch of military police out to arrest him. Picture a desperate man with crazy eyes holding two heavy objects and swinging his arms charging towards a whole lot of MPs.
It was pretty sudden and before they knew anything, he hit the riot shields two MPs were carrying and basically knocked them both down like bowling pins.
同僚の2人は逃走者が中にいる場合に備え、警棒とライオットシールドを準備していました。そこへ逃走者が片手にアイロン、もう片方には石像を武装してメインドアから突撃してきたのです。
彼はただ持っていたわけではなく、両腕を垂直の輪のように振り回していました。そして逮捕しようとしていた軍事警察の一団に向かって突撃していきました。
狂気の眼差しの必死な男が、両手に重い鈍器振り回しながらMPの集団に突撃していく様子を想像してみてください。
突然の状況で、気づかぬうちに彼はライオットシールドを武装していた2人のMPをボーリングピンのように押し倒していました。
One guy tried to grab him from behind and almost got brained by the swinging iron (luckily he wore his helmet). Another MP tried to rugby tackle him and instead got hit by a swinging stone statue almost fracturing his arm. There was virtually no way we could take him down until he was exhausted and dropped his “weapons”.
So yeah…a clothes iron and a stone statue can be pretty devastating weapons if you hold them and swing your arms in circles.
一人は背後から捕まえようとして、アイロンを振り回されて頭部を強打しました。（彼は幸運にもヘルメットをかぶっていたが）もう一人のMPはラグビーのタックルをしようとしたが、代わりに石像を振り回されて叩かれ、腕が粉砕されかけました。彼が疲れ果てて「武器」を置いてくれるまでは、捕まえることは実際に難しい状況でした。
