購入頂いたESX-1は古いタイプの機種になります。
本体側の電源プラグが特殊な形状になって、付属しているアダプター以外では利用できません。
同じ電源プラグを持った９Vアダプターなら利用できるとは思いますが、
私はこのアダプター以外は利用したことがありません。
この純正アダプターを利用するのであれば、必ず変圧器が必要になります。
変圧器なしで利用した場合は故障する可能性がありますのでご注意下さい。
これ以上詳しいことが私もわからないですが、参考にして頂ければと思います。

ESX-1 you purchased is an old type.
As plug of power at the body is a special form, you can use it only at the attached adaptor.
You will be able to use it at 9V adaptor that has the same plug of power, but I have used only this adaptor.
If you use this authentic adaptor, you will need a transformer.
If you use it with the transformer, it might be out of order. Please be careful about it.

As long as you use this genuine adapter, you definitely need a transformer.
