I broke my arm and went to a hospital and was refused service due to a lack of Japanese speaking ability a decade ago and was refused service, then went to another hospital and the same thing happened, then was fine at the 3rd. This is stupid. I was saying "わたしの腕が壊れた。" at the 2 previous hospitals, yet was still refused help. This was terrible.
It's hard to find the right exit in Shinjuku station in Tokyo, since it's such a big station. I took the wrong exit and ended up walking outside to opposite side of the station.
Public utilities: the signs doesnt have english translation inside the toilet. I accidentally pressed the button for emergency help instead of the flush button.

腕を骨折したので通院したが日本語がわからずに治療を断られたことが１０年前にありました。別の病院に行くとそこでは別のことが起きましたが３度目は大丈夫でした。最初に言った病院で私は「わたしの腕が壊れた。」と言ったために断られてしまったのです。ばかげた話ですがひどいものです。
東京で新宿駅は本当に大きな駅なのでどの出口を出ればよいか迷ってしまいます。出口を間違えて反対側の出口まで外から遠回りしたことがあります。
公共施設：トイレには英語のサインがありません。トイレを流すボタンだと思い、間違えて緊急ボタンをおしてしまいました。
All the documents I have received from city hall, were not all written in English. I had a hard time changing my alien residency card to Mynumber card because the procedure was written in English. I had no idea how to change my card and the lady at City hall did not speak any English at all. I someone managed to change with as I had to communicate in Japanese.
The trains cannot be used effectively without talking to the staff, and the staff don't speak English.
When comparing the Japanese information to the translated English information, the English translation is often of very low quality and more confusing then helpful.

市役所から入手した書類は全部が英語で書かれていたわけではありませんでした。外国人登録カードをマイナンバーカードに替えるのに一苦労しました。というのも英語で説明が書いてあったからです。自分のカードの変更の仕方がわからず、市役所の女性職員も英語を全く話せませんでした。日本語でやり取りせねばなりませんでしたが何とか乗り切りました。
駅の職員に質問せず効率的に電車を乗りこなすなんて不可能です、でも彼らは英語がわかりません。
日本語の情報と英訳された情報を比べてみると、英訳の方の質が劣っていることが多く役立つどころか混乱を招くことが多々あります。
日本では英語のチャネルがないため、個人的に英語のチャンネルを購読しています。

I received a lot of messages from Japan when I was home and I thought it would not charge me as long as I do not reply back. When I came home,I got my bill worth 200,000yen. I confronted the same shop clerk I talked before and she denied that she told me that I can bring my phone doing nothing to it. I ended up paying the money and cut off my phone.
I am at the train station and can't find the line i need to ride, i asked a staff in english but they can't understand me.
The year-end tax forms, and accompanying guidelines, are in Japanese. I later received a corrected form in the mail because I had made serious errors in my tax forms and had to rush to send the form in to make the deadline.

帰宅した時、日本からのメッセージをたくさん受信した。でも返信しない限り、請求は来ないだろうって思ったんだ。帰宅したら、20万円くらいの請求書を受け取った。前に話したauの店の店員に抗議したんだけど、彼女は自分に何もしないで携帯電話を持ち帰ることができると言ったことを否定したんだ。最終手的には料金を支払い、携帯電話を解約したよ。
駅にいたんだけど、乗らなきゃいけない路線が見つけられなかったんだ。それで係員に英語で尋ねたんだけど、彼らは理解できなかった。
年末調整の用紙と付随するガイドラインの書類が日本語で書かれている。提出した後に、郵便で訂正された用紙を受け取った。用紙に深刻なミスをしてしまったからだ。それで、締切に間に合うように急いで用紙を送るはめになったよ。
Applying for Visa card or other thing , u need to know to write in Japanese , else they do not take the application . Going to new place where all sign board are in Japanese . Using various child jidokan facilities ... All the pamphlet are in Japanese ... If u don't know Japanese or don't have friend to tell u , u cannot use the facilities . At the hospital too no such English preference given .
Before the internet and cell phones, I had trouble finding places when going somewhere new. It was hard at first to ask for help as few spoke English. Now I speak Japanese and have Google Translation to help me!

Visaカードその他の申請にしても、 日本語で記入しなくてはなりません。そうしないと申請を受け付けてくれません。知らないところへ行っても標識は全て日本語表記です。いろいろな児童館を使っているのですが、パンフレットは全て日本語です...日本語を知らなくて、話せる友達もいないと、施設を使えません。病院でも英語の配慮はなされていません。
ネットや携帯電話がなかった頃は、見知らぬ場所に行くのは大変でした。 まず、英語を話す人がほとんどいなかったので、助けを求めるのが難しかったのです。今では私は日本語を話せますし、Google翻訳のおかげで助かっています！
地下鉄の忘れ物引き取り所も英語の対応はありません。
