●外国人のお客様に最も喜ばれた京都での出来事、場所を教えてください。
Japanese Smile（日本人の笑顔）！他の国の人は日本ほどあたたかく迎えてくれませんが、日本ではどこへ行っても笑顔で迎えてくれる。

He reads English newspapers and world news even when he's not working. We have asked him about his experience of being a driver that greets foreign guests.
●Tell us what aspects or places of Kyoto are our guests most pleased with.
Japanese smile! No other country greets guests as warmly as Japan does. Everyone greets you with smiles in Japan no matter where you go.
●初めて京都に来られた外国人のお客様が戸惑われるのはどんなことですか？
Everywhere is very clean and beautiful! But,why there is no dust bins?
何処へ行っても清潔で美しい！でもどうしてゴミ箱が置かれていないの？
●What are foreign guests most confused about when they first arrive in Kyoto?
"Everywhere is very clean and beautiful! But, why are there no dust bins?"
●実は外国人のお客様はこんなことを思っています！ということはありますか？
ユダヤ教、キリスト教、イスラム教といった世界の三大宗教は唯一神信仰であるため、敬虔な信者の方々の中には仏教寺院、神社などで参拝するのを避ける方がいます。そうした場合は、無理に押し付けずに、仏教・神道の多神教的な性格と大宗教の違いを理解しやすく説明するように心がけています。
●Have you had any "so that's what our foreign guests actually think!" moments?
Since Judaism, Christianity and Islam - three of the world biggest religions - are all monotheic, some of the more devout believers avoid visiting Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples. In that case it's best not to force them but to explain the polytheic nature of Buddhism and Shinto and their differences from major religions in a way that is easy to understand.
●外国人のお客様をエスコートする時に心がけていることを教えてください。
常にお客様がどういう事柄（例えば、庭園、建築、仏教美術、伝統工芸…）に興味を持たれているかに注意し、あきさせないように訪問地にも変化をつけるようにしています。
●お客様へのメッセージを英語でお願いします。

●Tell us what you always try to keep in mind as you escort foreign guests.
I always pay attention to what kinds of attractions they like most (for example, gardens, buildings, buddhist art, traditional crafts) and try to vary the locations so that they don't get tired.

◆休日の過ごし方は？
休日に限らず朝はNHK、BSワールドニュース（BBCを中心にして）を見て世界各国の重大ニュースをチェック！
それから休日は近くのコメダ珈琲でモーニングしながら英字新聞に目を通して、時事英語のアップデートをしています。
◆How do you spend your weekends?
Every morning (not just on weekends) I watch world news on NHK and BS (mainly BBC) so I can keep track of major news of different countries!
Then I visit the local Komeda cafe, so I can gloss over the morning English paper and update my English vocabulary.
◆お客様へのメッセージ
京都では「KYOTO GRAPHIE京都国際写真祭」が今年の4/18～5/10に開催されていました。日本及び海外から9ヶ国14組の作家が参加し、メイン会場15ヶ所、サテライトイベント会場50ヶ所で行われており、あらためて京都の文化発信地としての役割の大きさも感じました。
海外からのお客様も多く、私も何組かご案内しましたが、中にはプロのコレクター（収集家）の方もいらして外国人の美術の捉え方、見方などとても興味深いものがありました。
Message to all guests
[KYOTO GRAPHIE INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL] will be held in KYOTO on 18th April to 10th May this year.14 Group of Artist from Japan or Overseas will join and will be held at 15 Main Hall , 50 Satellite Event Hall to feel the size of role as Culture Dispatching Place of KYOTO.
Guest from overseas are so many, and I have introduced some group of them. Among that , there is some Pro Collector that interested about viewpoint and perceiving of art in foreign country
