CNSeg head Gouvea complained to representatives of Susep , who said they adopted the measures to prevent unfair and anticompetitive practices in the market. Gouvea said he would be willing to have CNSeg identify the practices in question, work to prevent them and submit a proposal for monitoring and self-regulation on the topic.
However, the offer has been rebuffed by the finance ministry's economic policy chief.
"We have no intention of reviewing these measures immediately," Barbosa was quoted by news agency Agencia Estado as saying. "We will wait for the effects."
