I received the lens today and was very happy with quick delivery but the lens is faulty.
The information on screen permanently says focal length 18mm, even when fully zoomed out at 9mm. I am unable to achieve maximum aperture f/4.0. Maximum aperture I am able to achieve at all times is f/5.6 only.
As you can see in the photograph, lens is fully zoomed out at 9mm, but top right of LCD indicates 18mm with maximum achievable aperture f/5.6 as indicated bottom left of LCD.
I spoke to Olympus Singapore hotline and they advised to take in it for assessment as they suspect it is a hardware problem.

本日、そのレンズを受けとり、迅速な出荷に大変満足していましたが、レンズに問題がありました。
画面上の情報は常時、焦点距離18mmと表示します。完全に9mmまでズームアウトした場合もそうです。絞り値は最大のf/4.0まで達しません。機能する最大の絞り値はいつもf/5.6までです。
この写真で確認できるように、レンズは9mmで完全にズームアウトし、LCD左下にもそのように表示してありますが、LCDの右上には18mm、最大絞り値f/5.6と表示されます。
私がオリンパス・シンガポールのホットラインに相談したところ、ハードウェアに問題があるようなので、その製品を確認評価に持ち込むように勧められました。
