余分な物を造りすぎるために発生するムダで、パレットや箱が余計に必要となったり、余分な運搬作業の増加、材料の先食い、倉庫や置場の増大などが発生する。
TIEでは最も悪いムダと呼んでいる。
運搬のムダとは、一時的な仮置きや積み替え、または必要以上の運搬距離により生ずるムダをいう。
在庫があるという安心感から、設備故障、品質問題などの根本的な対策が遅れてしまう。
仕事量が少ない時や前後工程のバランスが悪い時、また機械が自動的に加工している間、作業者が何もしないで待っている状態をいう

This is the waste that is due to production of too many items, and because of this one would need more palettes or boxes, one would need more manipulations during transportation, the raw materials would be used up too early, and one would need more space for storing the products.
At TIE this is considered the worst type of wastefulness.
The wastefulness upon transportation is the wastefulness that occurs due to temporary storage, reloads of the products or the need to carry the products for longer distances.
Because of the sense of relief that is felt due to availability of the stock of products, the basic measures, which are needed to deal with damage of the equipment, the problem of quality of products and other issues, get delayed.
This refers to the situations when the workers are not doing anything because the amount of work is small or the balance of the previous stage of production is bad, or the equipment is involved in automated production product.
