測定の目的は、良品と不良品を判別し、不良品が流出しないようにすることです。
そのために測定量の大きさの正しい値を求める事にあるが、測定に用いる計測器の精度や測定方法が悪いと測定誤差を生じて厳密に正しい値を求める事ができない。
従ってより誤差の少ない測定を行い、真の値に近づける必要がある。
測定誤差とは、測定する品物の真の値と、実際に測定して得た値との差を測定誤差という。
