Perayaan Tahun Baru
Saat ini, tahun baru 1 Januari telah dijadikan sebagai salah satu hari suci umat Kristen. Namun kenyataannya, tahun baru sudah lama menjadi tradisi sekuler yang menjadikannya sebagai hari libur umum nasional untuk semua warga Dunia.
Pada mulanya perayaan ini dirayakan baik oleh orang Yahudi yang dihitung sejak bulan baru pada akhir September. Selanjutnya menurut kalender Julianus, tahun Romawi dimulai pada tanggal 1 Januari. Paus Gregorius XIII mengubahnya menjadi 1 Januari pada tahun 1582 dan hingga kini seluruh dunia merayakannya pada tanggal tersebut.
