Balsam separation means the state that the bond areas are a little bit separated because the adhesion force between the lens and the bond (balsam) which had grabbed the lens has decreased. It is not the stain or contamination of the glass.

Balsam separation is the the adhesive (balsam) adhesive strength loosens and the lens to lens contact separates. It iis not contamination of the glass or dirt.
