モノクロの写真は1983年(昭和58年)に新宿副都心(当時は副都心と呼んでいた)で撮影されたものである。まだ都庁の工事も始まっていなく広大な敷地 にはビルの間からさし込んだ光がラインを描いていた。この空き地では日本で人気になった「がんばれベアーズ」というハリウッド映画の少年野球の試合シーン をここでやっていたのを覚えている。それから5年後の1988年に着工 1991年竣工した。
