アルゼンチン・ブエノスアイレスで開催された国際オリンピック委員会（IOC）総会で、2020年のオリンピック・パラリンピック開催を東京に導いた、招致メンバーが9月10日に帰国し、都庁前広場で約6000人の観衆の前で報告会を開催した。
「みなさんの声援がブエノスアイレスに届きました」と猪瀬直樹東京都知事が挨拶。報告会終了後には都庁内で記者会見が行なわれた。招致委員会評議会議長・副会長を務めた森喜朗元首相が、刻一刻と変わる票読みのようすなど招致メンバーの現地での活動を明らかにした。

The bidding committee members, who led 2020 Olympic Games to Tokyo at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) General Assembly held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, returned home on September 10. They held the report meeting at the square in front of Tokyo Metropolitan Government building addressing a crowd of approximately 6000 people.
"The cheers of all of you reached to Buenos Aires." Naoki Inose, The Governor of Tokyo, addressed the crowd. Arter the meeting, a press conference was held in Tokyo Metropolitan Government building. The Bid Committee President of the Council and Vice Chairman, former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, announced the members' on-site activities such as vote counting situation which changed with every moment.
