「Charlotte's web」に出てくるCharlotteは蜘蛛ですが、蜘蛛は一般的には、気持ち悪い、怖い印象があります。
日本の言い伝えで、朝にクモを見ると縁起が良く、夜にクモを見ると縁起が悪い。朝蜘蛛は客を連れてきて、夜蜘蛛は泥棒を連れてくるというような意味です。

In Japanese legends, it's a good omen to see a spider in the morning but a bad one to see a spider at night. This is because it's said that morning spiders bring with them customers while night spiders bring with them burglars.
