This is a good vintage CG Conn 6M “Naked Lady” alto sax, serial number 278387. This horn is one of the original “VIII” horns, stamped as such on both the horn and the original neck. These horns are fantastic altos, and while this one does need some pad work, it can be a great player with some work.
This is one of the famous “Naked Lady” model horns, called as such because of the engraving on the bell. This alto was relacquered a long time ago, and the “newer” lacquer shows good coverage without a lot of wear. It is mechanically solid with all the keywork intact. It features rolled tone holes, in good condition.

Still has the original neck too, with the underslung octave key, double socket receiver, and “microtuner” mechanism.
This alto will need some pad work to really get into good playing shape. Pads are older, and the horn could really stand a repad and good regulation. It is well worth the work, as the 6M was arguably the best alto Conn ever made. It featured a host of improvements from the previous model and remains one of the most popular vintage horns today.
