レールガンはとある魔術の禁書目録のスピンオフ作品です。Misaka Mikotoを主人公とした科学サイド中心の作品になっています。なのでINDEXで中心となっていた、Touma KamijoやINDEXはあまり出てきません。INDEXも好きなだけにそれが少し残念です・・・。
２０１３年にはアニメ第２弾が放映される予定で、非常にHOTな作品です。舞台は総人口２３０万人の８割を学生が占める学園都市です。

The "Rail-gun" is a spin-off of "A certain magical index". It's a work whose protagonist is Mikoto Misaka, and that is centered on Scientific side. So, there won't be Touma Kamijo or INDEX much, who play central role in "index". I'm bit sad, because I love INDEX...
In 2013, the 2nd series of anime will be broadcast, it's so hot. Its stage is an academy city that has 2.3 millions of population and 80% of them are students.

Railgun is a spin-off work of a magic Index Librorum Prohibitorum. Main character is Misaka Mikoto,and this is mostly about science.So,there is no Touma Kmijo or INDEX,who was main in INDEX.I am little disappointed about it because I like Index.....

そこの学生は超能力開発実験の対象となっており、その超能力によってレベル０からレベル５まで段階別に分けられています。
レベル５が一番高く、学園都市でも７人しかいません。第１位は一方通行です。主人公であるみことは第３位に位置しています。そんなみことさんが大好きなShirai Kurokoとのやり取りは必見！あーんなことやこーんなことまでしちゃいます。
もう一つぜひ見てほしいのが、みことのツンデレ具合です。これぞツンデレ、ツンデレの王道をいく彼女のツンデレっぷり。ぜひ堪能してください。

個人的に好きなキャラクターはLast Orderです。ほかにもすっごくかわいい初春、熱狂的ファンの多いRuiko Satenといった素敵なキャラクターたちも多いですよ。
女性キャラクターが非常に強い力をもっているので、女性ファンの支持を多く獲得しています。もしかしたら、昔からの男性に対して女性の力が弱いという風潮のアンチテーゼを表現したいのかもしれませんね。深読みしすぎでしょうか。
ともあれ、強くてかわいいキャラクターが好きなら見て損はありませんよ。あ、もちろんツンデレ好きもね！

Personally, I love Last Order best. Besides, there are wonderful characters. Kazari Uiharu is very cute, and Ruiko Saten has certain numbers of fanatic.
Female characters are so mighty, and "Rail-gun" has got support from female fans. Perhaps, it may be an antitheses for trend from old days that female is weaker than male. Do I think too much?
Anyway, it must be enjoyable if you like cute and strong characters. Ah, and if you like tsundere, too!

Personally,I like Last Order.In addition,there is Hatsuharu,who is very cute,or Ruiko Saten,Who has a lots of fans.
Since the lady characters have a strong power,they are supported a lot by lady fans.It could be a antithesis toward the traditional fact that ladies have a less power than men.Did I read too much?
Anyway,if you like tough and cute characters,there is no loss watching it.And also,if you like tsun-dere.
