I've only seen the item via photo, so I haven't been able to physically confirm for myself, but I believe only the box has been damaged.

It would be possible to refund just $40 instead of the full price.

Since I only looked at the item in a picture and didn't directly touch and see it, I'm not quite sure though, I guess it was the damage of the box alone.
