志賀自工会会長、一番の印象は「大震災からの復興」
日本自動車工業会の志賀俊之会長は13日、会長として最後の記者会見に臨み、「この2年間で、衝撃的であり忘れることができないのは、やはり東日本大震災だった」と振り返った。
志賀会長は震災によって寸断されたサプライチェーンの復旧に向けてリーダーシップを発揮したが、そのプロセスで「会員企業各社が一丸となって取り組んだことが一番印象的だった」と語った。

また、2010年5月の会長就任後に進んだ円高など、日本の製造業が置かれた厳しい状況を「5重苦」あるいは「6重苦」として発信。日本のものづくりの重要性を訴えることで、政府のエコカー補助金や減税など内需振興策の策定にも影響を与えた。
一方で、政府が14年度中の実施を計画する消費税引き上げに関連し、「自動車取得税、自動車重量税の車体課税撤廃については、やり残した。豊田章男次期会長（トヨタ自動車社長）に引き継いでお願いしたい」と述べた。
志賀会長は任期中、会見資料のビジュアル化など記者団とのコミュニケーションを重視する取り組みを進めたこともあり、会見終了時には日本の記者会見では異例の拍手がわき起こった。
