引越しや警備員のアルバイトなど外での仕事をしていた時、休憩時間になると必ず缶コーヒーを買ってタバコと一緒に飲んでいた。特に雨が降っている時や冬の寒い時期には熱い缶コーヒーは手を温めてくれたし身体も温かくなった。その頃は香りを楽しむでも味を楽しむでもなく身体を温めてくれて、たばこと一緒に飲むことがとてもおいしかった。朝も晩も働いて合間にコーヒーを飲んでいたから一日8本位は飲んでいたと思う。身体には悪いのだろうけど、その時はなんとも思っていなかった。

Especially when it was raining or during the cold period of winter, the hot canned coffee warmed my hands and body. That time it wasn't the smell or the taste that I enjoyed, but it warmed my body and drinking it along with cigarettes was very delicious. Day or night, I drank in working intervals so I used to drink about 8 cans a day. It may be bad for my health but, that time I thought nothing of it.
