引越しや警備員のアルバイトなど外での仕事をしていた時、休憩時間になると必ず缶コーヒーを買ってタバコと一緒に飲んでいた。特に雨が降っている時や冬の寒い時期には熱い缶コーヒーは手を温めてくれたし身体も温かくなった。その頃は香りを楽しむでも味を楽しむでもなく身体を温めてくれて、たばこと一緒に飲むことがとてもおいしかった。朝も晩も働いて合間にコーヒーを飲んでいたから一日8本位は飲んでいたと思う。身体には悪いのだろうけど、その時はなんとも思っていなかった。

When I used to do part-time jobs outdoor, such as a helper of house-moving and guard, it was my rule to buy canned coffee and drink it with cigarette when break time started. Especially when it was raining or during the cold period of winter, the hot canned coffee warmed my hands and body. At the time, it was not to enjoy the scent nor taste, but I found it really delicious to drink it with cigarette. I think I had about 8 cans of coffee a day, as I worked from the morning till night and had coffee in between. I did not think about the habit at all, thought it would be harmful to the body.
