The box was damaged when I received the item.
Maybe something heavy was put on the box during transportation of this item.
I had been busy with work and had no time to open the box.
After my work has calmed down, I opened the box and the item was crushed.

I guess it maybe because there were heavy items on top of it in transit.
I was quite tied up by my work and I didn't have time to unbox it.
As my work getting settled down, I opened the box to find the item was collapsed.
This is why it took time to contact you.
