演武場建設の歴史や塔時計が付けられたいきさつ、農学校生徒の英語による学習の様子、時計台を取り上げた歌と小説、修復工事の映像など様々な角度から時計台を学ぶことができる。
時計台の鐘
演武場はかつて「農学校の大時計」と呼ばれていた。農学校が移転し札幌区が演武場を譲り受けた頃より「時計台」と呼ばれるように。都心のビル化が進む以前、鐘は一里四方に響き渡り市民に澄んだ鐘の音を届けていた。
