<緊迫感が伝わるツアー>
これまで、様々な国で現地オプショナルツアーに参加してきたが、これまで緊迫感を感じながら参加したことはなかった。まず、板門店に行くまでのバス車内でのガイドさんの表情と口調。ルールが定められていて、それをしっかり守らないと「我々も首になりますから」と強い口調で言われる。途中、高速のＳＡで休憩をとり、板門店へ。1時間ちょっとで到着。中に入るまで2回の検問があり、1回目は韓国兵によるもの。こちらは、チェックしたという事実があればいいのか、意外とさらっとだった。

<Tour in which we feel sense of urgency>
I have participated in local optional tours in various countries so far, but had never participated with feeling a sense of urgency.
First, expression and tone of the guide in bus to go to Panmunjom.
Rules have been established, and we are told forcefully that they got fired.
We took a break in the SA on the way to Panmunjom.
It took just an hour. to reach there.
There were inpections twice, the first inspection was carried out by South Korea soldiers.
The inspection was surprisingly smooth. I wondered if they needed only the fact that they had checked.

Though I have ever took part in the optional tour all over the world, I have never felt nervous so much so far. The look and tone of local guide in the bus made us tense. He emphasized us to keep rules, or he would be fired. We took a short rest on the way and continued our journey to Panmunjom. It takes an hour to get there. Firstly, The korean soldier checked up on each participants and it was not so strictly. We got finally checked up two times.

2回目は、アメリカ兵によるもの。こちらは、事前に渡されている名前、パスポート、服装などかなりじっくりと見られた。バス車内の全員が通過したものの、背筋が凍る感じがした。そして、いざ中へ。どの施設も大変緊迫感があり、写真撮影が可能のところと、不可能のところがはっきり決まっており、それをしっかり守らなければならない。一番驚いたのは、ＪＳＡで警備をしている兵士が全く動かないこと。最初、人形かと思ってしまうくらいだった。

The second time is by American soldier. In this time, the name previously listed and handed out, the passport, and outfit were checked relatively strictly. Though everyone in the bus could pass, I felt a chill ran down my spine. Then we did go inside. Each facility had a full of tension; there were the place where we could take photos and where we could not, which we must obey without fail. What I was surprised most was that the soldiers to guard at JSA would not move at all. They looked as if we had thought them as dolls.
45分警備、15分休憩を3時間交代するそうだ。冬場は寒いだろうし、夏場は虫もいて、それすらはらったりすることができない。なんて、大変な仕事なのかと思った。同じ国にいながら2つに分けられてしまった人たち。その歴史を聞くたびに、なんて無残なことなのかと痛感した。参加する価値があるツアーです。

The soldiers work 3-hour shifts with hourly 15-minute breaks. The temperature drops down during the winter, and they aren't able to whip bothersome insects in summer. What an arduous work condition they must be under. United people at one point in time, now divided between two countries. Their history echo the tragic events engraved in hearts of men. This tour is definitely worth attending.

They seem to have a three-hour shift with 45 minutes for security and 15 minutes for break.
It would be cold in winter and they can’t clear bus even though there are bugs in summer.
I thought what a hard work it is.
People who had been divided into two while being in the same country.
I was keenly aware of how such a tragic thing it was, every time I hear the history.
The tour is worth participating.
